Fassaden Windows and Doors are made from Douglas Fir, Pine, Spruce, Hemlock, Larch, Oak, Ash, Meranti, Mahogany, or any other desired timber species suitable for Windows and Doors.

The use of sustainable timber has a low environmental impact. Timber-glass facades are at least 60% more energy efficient than aluminum-glass systems, and results in a “warm” feel to the interior building environment.

Standard timber curtain wall with 1" insulated glass has a NFRC U-Value = 0.27 Btu/H ft² °F and an ASTM E 331 Water Resistance = 20 psf [958 Pa]

Various custom mullion designs are available starting from 50 mm [2"] wide, giving slim, elegant sightlines. It is possible to upgrade the backs of the mullion with special design groves or milling. We are happy to consider your wishes and suggestions.

Outside the mullion cover profiles can be aluminum or solid wood.

The mullion depth is engineered to meet the span, wind load and design pressure requirements for the specific project location. With timber facades the depth of the mullion is not constrained to a standard extrusion size.

Residential spans of up to 4 m [13 ft] and large commercial spans up to 6 m [19 ft] are available.

Fassaden Windows are available now to meet or exceed the new proposed phase 2 requirements of the U.S. DOE IECC/Energy Star window criteria set to go in effect in 2012.

Fassaden offers triple-glazed windows, doors and timber curtain wall supplied with 44 mm [1¾ in.] infill thickness, argon gas filling and acrylic warm-edge spacers. These products are certified by the Passive House Institute as Passivhaus components and by MINERGIE-P.

Fassaden standard triple-glazed timber curtain wall products have U-Values = 0.12 Btu/H ft² °F.
